Loving, Giving, Connecting, Growing
Baptism is like a wedding. It is a public declaration of unconditional devotion to a person—Jesus Christ.
Like the wedding rings, baptism signifies our union with Jesus. It is not a promise to be good for the rest of our lives. It is not a religious version of the Boy Scout pledge. Like marriage, it is a relational promise—a promise to give ourselves, body and soul, to Jesus. In baptism we’re not saying to Jesus, “I’ll be good!”, but we’re saying “I’ll be yours!”
If you’d like to learn more about baptism, or have general questions about what it means to follow Jesus, come join us at our Baptism class. This short, one-time class packed full of great information meets the last Sunday of each month, except in the summer at HVC in Room 233 at 11:30 a.m.
Please contact Rodney Wallace at 319-266-4673 for more information.
We want you on our team!
Do you want to watch from the stands or step onto the field? At Heartland Vineyard, “membership” is really about ownership, making a commitment to embrace the mission, vision and values of our church. Members make a commitment to leverage the best of their time, talent and treasure to help move the mission of the church forward, living on the front lines of loving Jesus and serving others in the Cedar Valley and beyond.
Our next Membership Orientation will be held on Thursday night, March 9, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Come hear our pastors communicate what it means to be ALL IN at Heartland Vineyard Church.
Please fill out this form if you’d like to attend. Childcare is available for newborn to 4 years old upon request (let us know how many children).
We look forward to seeing you!
At HVC, we place a high value of Small groups. Small groups are without question the most vital and life-giving aspect of the overall ministry of Heartland Vineyard. They are the essence of our church family and the primary way in which discipleship happens.
We are ALL IN on discipleship! We believe that relationally-driven, biblically-rooted, missionally minded, spirit-led small groups is where we can truly disciple and be discipled. We don’t want to just be a church that has small groups; we want to be a church of small groups.
Grace is God’s love in action towards men who merited the opposite of love. Grace is the foundation on which we relate to God.
Relationships are the currency of the Kingdom and an incredible mechanism for transformation.
The Bible is our main source for content/curriculum and testifies to the person Jesus. The Bible provides us a guide for how we do life and relationships. Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4.25-27 are essential for any healthy community.
Small groups have a missional focus; they don’t exist just for themselves, but for Jesus and the world. When small groups embrace the great commission, they will organize grass roots service and evangelistic initiatives.
Plans can be set aside for what God wants to do in a group on any given night. We believe that the Spirit is always calling us to worship and prayer. Inviting the presence of God and the laying on of hands is far more powerful and effective than giving advice.
Small groups simply put are a group of people following Jesus together.

At HVC we also place a high priority on serving and we have the perfect model in Jesus…
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” —Mark 10:45.
As disciples of Jesus we desire to live a life of service. One of the easiest and most practical ways to serve is on Sunday mornings. We have endless opportunities and would love to get you plugged in. Please contact us at 319-266-4673 for more information on our service opportunities or mark I Want to Help on your Connect Card.
