Street Ministry – Thursday Night

Are you looking for adventure to spice up your Christian walk?

Thursday evenings our Street Ministry teams venture into areas of the Cedar Valley to reach the lost, the broken, and the hungry to minister the love of Jesus.

We meet at the church at 6:00 p.m. and pray as a team. Then we go where God directs us. Experience God’s presence as we pray for people while we walk different neighborhoods in our community.

We are led by the Holy Spirit and go where He says to go. We welcome everyone, young, old, students and youth, even parents pushing little ones in strollers. We invite you to join us and you can step out as much as you desire. You are certainly welcome to join us just to “shadow” us or watch and ask questions. You won’t even need to talk to anyone we meet if you don’t want to. Come as you are, but come expectant. God will amaze you.

For more information contact  Corey Peters at 319-215-6212.

Van Ministry

This ministry was birthed initially out of an outreach that fed homeless women and their families from the various women’s shelters in the Cedar Valley at a meal we called The Banquet. Nearly a decade later, this ministry now transports over 50 people people weekly to Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday nights and to our gathering on Sunday morning. Our faithful team has a heart for those that would not otherwise be connected to our Vineyard family.

If you are without transportation and desire to be a part of Celebrate Recovery and/or attend our Sunday gathering, please call us at 319-266-4673.

If you would like to be involved in this ministry as a driver, please sign up here.

Haiti Missions

God is doing awesome things in Haiti, both at the Imagine Missions orphanage and in the surrounding village. Imagine Missions is a group of volunteers from all walks of life with a common goal, to help people in need and to show them the love of Christ.

We support trips to Imagine Mission Orphanage in Despinos, Haiti (just outside of Port-Au-Prince). There is also a smaller orphanage in Port-Au-Prince that is sponsored by the Columbus, Ohio Vineyard that we send teams to.

If you feel the Lord is stirring your heart, stretch yourself and sign up for one of our short-term mission trips. You’ll be glad you did!

Trips are to Imagine Mission Orphanage possible work projects include: building beds for the team house, working on transition house, grading/drainage, building park benches/tables and pavilion, playground equipment, permanent clothesline, garbage containment/incinerator, permanent shelter for generator, storage shelves between bunk beds, chicken coop, and garden area.

If you are thinking about joining our Haiti missions team to Despinos, Haiti in the spring, we invite you to come to an information meeting on November 13th. We would love to talk with you there or you can contact us directly for details. Mark and Tanya Robinson: tjorobinson@juno.com or 319-396-9664 and 319-361-7665.

Mexico Missions

In 1995, Pastor Fred and Debbie Collum moved to Mazatlan, taking a small team of nationals with them. They held a twenty-one day tent crusade and a few months later, started Sunday services in a five-star hotel in Mazatlan’s “Golden Zone”. Since then, the Golden Zone church has planted two other churches in colonias (communities) in Mazatlan. As of April 2014, there are 14 children’s feeding centers and a children’s scholarship program that sponsors and registers children for school who have never attended before (nearly 400 kids were sponsored in 2014).  Sixteen thousand bags of groceries were given to the poor. The church also operates a mobile kitchen that has fed thousands of children and adults in Mazatlan’s poorest colonias; and plans are being made for starting a school for children whose parents are “dump scroungers.”  The church now has land in other colonias for future church plants in Mazatlan.

Heartland Vineyard is currently working with Fred to grow his ministry through financial support and child sponsorships.
